The team at Lake District based tea and coffee merchants John Farrer & Co, Kendal, are pleased to announce that they have been awarded three 1-star Great Taste awards for their first ever entries.
The Lakes based tea and coffee specialist has certainly created a stir. They have been awarded three prestigious food and drink industry gongs that puts them in the top 30% of roasters.
Quality Coffee recognisation
The team were awarded the internationally recognised awards for Farrer’s Colombian single origin ground coffee, secondly Farrer’s Colombian Nespresso® compatible capsules and finally Farrer’s Lakeland Special Tea.
Farrer’s sell tea and coffee to a range of retail and hospitality businesses up and down the country. And as the UK’s oldest coffee roasters they also provide their products to customers through their website, which includes their coffee subscription service.

The Kendal-based tea and coffee merchant, founded in 1819, sources tea and coffee from around the world, using their state of the art roastery to get the best out of their products for their customers enjoyment.
Great Taste Awards Success
The Great Taste awards celebrate the very best artisan and specialty producers. With 12,777 products from around the world entered in this year’s awards, there was only 3,818 being awarded a 1-star accolade.
The products are judged by 144 of the most discerning palates. Belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, buyers, retailers, and producers, as well as food writers and journalists. This means the Great Taste is the most coveted of all food and drink awards.
