Stokes Coffee – reusable bucket scheme

Following a highly successful trial with Pennells Garden Centre, Lincoln and the Lincoln Cathedral Refectory,  Stokes Tea and Coffee are rolling their reusable bucket scheme out across the Lincoln area. Any business which shares Stokes own commitment to sustainability and recycling are invited to be a part of the scheme in the city area.

Jackie Parker the restaurant manager at the Pennell’s Garden Centre based in North Hykeham said: “Pennells are proud to be working alongside Stokes Tea and Coffee and their bucket scheme fits perfectly into our own ethos of becoming more environmentally responsible.  We work hard behind the scenes to reduce our waste and plastics and are recycling more than ever before.”

The reusable bucket scheme has been introduced to allow our customers to order coffee but without the plastic packaging or cardboard box and plastic tape.

Susan Scatcliffe Lincoln Cathedral Refectory Manger said: “We are really excited to be part of Stokes Tea and Coffee bucket scheme.  Along with Stokes we are concerned for the future and want to make a difference reducing plastics.”

Nick Peel, managing director of Stokes said: “Although the cost to the customer is reduced via this method, it has been introduced to allow our customers to be more conscious of plastic waste and give them the opportunity to reduce their plastic waste and packaging.  We have been mindful also to ensure that the buckets themselves are also recyclable along with the seal around the bucket which is made from Kraft paper and solvent free.”

The coffee is supplied in 2kg buckets for a minimum order of 6kg*. Larger orders in excess of 28kg can be supplied in lager 4kg buckets. 28kg and above will qualify for larger discounts.
