With only three tables and chairs and a counter, the popular cafe shop doesn’t have enough room “regardless of whether they need two metres or one-metre space” between customers.
Instead, they’re taking out the tables, transforming the shop into a takeout space and giving the menu a complete overhaul in a bid to still serve their loyal customers.
Adam said: “We’ve always been a very small place, we only have three tables so we would have had to take out another table just to reopen.
“With the scale of our cafe it was quite clear we couldn’t really function. Even if we took another table out people would still be coming in and out and we could only have one person in the shop at one time.
“Our lease was meant to be up in August so it was a worry for us and we wondered whether we would be able to carry on but we think this is the best way to go forward.
“For me, it was like we have got this business and it’s going really well and the customers seem to be loving it but where do we go from here?”
The cafe will have a bigger kitchen space and will restart its website so people can order online.
They have also started a supper club which sees them make their own takeaway like food that people can collect and re-heat at home.
Adam explained: “We’re going to take out the tables to make room for a bigger kitchen space in the shop that will help us cater for more people.
“I think it will help us cater for people who are on a lunch break and want to pick up something and are in and out whereas before we didn’t really have the capacity to do that.
“We’re going to restart our website too so people can order online with a click and collect services. We started a supper club every week which is going really well.
