Farrer’s launches a Lungo coffee in their coffee capsule range

John Farrer & Co’s have added a fourth coffee in their Nespresso® compatible coffee capsule range.

The new coffee joining the range is a Lungo, made from a specially selected blend of coffees carefully sourced from Guatemala, Brazil, and Ethiopia. Each coffee has been specially chosen to complement the other when roasted and to provide the optimal flavour extraction when used on the Lungo setting on your Nespresso® coffee machine.

Lungo, the Italian word for long, sums up this coffee. Essentially the difference is that a Lungo takes up a little more room in your cup. The flavour from your coffee is extracted in the same way but because the process involves a little more water volume the resulting coffees tend to be a little milder in body whilst maintaining flavour and intensity.

The new Lungo coffee joins Farrer’s existing capsule range, which includes:

Colombian – Sourced from the famous Huila region in Colombia this coffee is wonderfully bright and fruity, with notes of toffee apple and blackcurrant.

Intense – Is an intense and complex blend of coffees, with hints of roasted nut, dark cocoa, and sweet cedar wood.

Decaf – This unique blend of decaffeinated beans, which delivers a rich medium bodied blended coffee with notes of nut and chocolate.

Farrer’s Lungo capsules are compatible with Nespresso® coffee machines and are available directly through the Farrer’s website, where they are currently available for just £12.99 RRP instead of the normal £15.99 RRP for four packs (40 pods).

Alongside that until the 17th March customers can also order a special limited-edition pack that contains one pack of each of the four Farrer’s pod varieties: Lungo, Intense, Decaf and Colombian, priced at just £11.00 for 40 pods. (Please note this is a consumer offer only)

Farrer’s General Manager, Rob Baines, said: ”We are very pleased with this latest addition to our Coffee Pod range, Farrer’s Lungo fills a gap in the range for a longer drink. We’ve taken time and great care to research the coffees we use to create every coffee in our pod range, in this instance we’ve blended Arabica beans from Guatemala, Brazil and Ethiopia to produce an exceptionally well-rounded, balanced and smooth flavoured coffee, which we hope our customers will really enjoy.”
