What is the Beverage Standards Association PopUp Show?
The BSA’s PopUp Show is taking place at Bury Lodge, Stanstead is a must attend event for anyone serving beverages in the Out of Home market and this includes Cafes, Hotels, Restaurants and Bars.
The Show is free to visitors and will open from 10.30am. There will be 40 exhibitors including European Watercare, Fracino, UK Tea Academy and the Brew-It Group. Further exhibitors will be announced over the next few weeks.
Alongside this the event will be featuring the first heat for The UK Tea Brewers Championship Heats and these will commence from Noon. The Championship is launched in combination with the UK Tea Academy & The Beverage Standards Association and the concept is to create
- A professional platform to showcase the talent of to anyone working in the tea serving industry (i.e. working in: Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés, Tea Houses, Tea Rooms, Coffee Shops) who want to show off their craft and flair in producing a range of tea beverages to a professional standard and
- improve the standards of tea served in the Out of Home (OOH) market throughout the UK, Europe and Asia
BSA chairman Steve Slark, said: “We’ve designed the Pop Up event in a stunning venue with good access off the M11. It offers a cost effective, easy set up and set down formula for up to 40 exhibitors. Free to attend and with free parking, the stands priced a £125 for BSA members or £150 for non- members.”
He added, “Generating a business buzz and wealth of networking opportunities, the key focus of the event is the UK Tea Brewers Championship heat.”
Supported by the UK Tea Academy and Watercare, exhibitors signed up to date include Brew It and Fracino, the UK’s only manufacturer of traditional espresso machines whose global head of sales, Peter Atmore is a BSA board member.
Said Peter: “We’re looking forward to the show which offers a low cost entry and no ‘hidden’ costs for exhibitors to explore opportunities and see top tea brewers in action. With food and bar facilities available, we’ll be inviting our customers to savour the experience and hope that fellow exhibitors will do the same.”
To compliment the UK Tea Brewers Championship Heats there will be the opportunity to be involved with several seminars. These will include details on the Association’s Accreditation process for the OOH industry and how to develop the skills of your staff through the BSA’s City & Guilds VRQ Level 2 courses which are run at ‘Approved’ Centres around the UK.
The catering industry is thriving in the UK, with revenue for the market sitting at £1bn (August 2018), according to new data from IBISWorld. A specialist in business information and market research, IBISWorld has shown how the market has experienced an annual growth of 1% since 2013 and now has a workforce of over 28,000.
In addition to this data, a report by the British Hospitality Association (BHA) in 2017 discovered that the contract catering market is anticipated to increase 1.9% a year until 2020.
