The Pursuit of Truly Ethical Coffee – written by Holly Kragiopoulos from North StarCoffee

Despite huge growth and interest in responsible consumer habits, it seems that now more than ever we have greater confusion about what this phrase really means. Given the rise of various certification schemes and approaches along with the complexities of true sustainability, this is totally understandable. There is a problem with this though when consumers end up standing by certain certification schemes or logos, when in many cases these systems do not work for the coffee producer and they may benefit more from a different approach. My own dissertation at university along with a recent article published by The Guardian discussed this very possibility in regard to the impact of Fairtrade on the rural poor.

BWT Flexing With Their Besthead

What is the Besthead FLEX?
The new BWT besthead FLEX filter head fits all BWT Water and More filter cartridges, making it even easier to optimise water at the point of use. The user-friendly venting is extraordinarily simple to operate, and the bypass control snaps into place, ensuring the right setting at site. With its one-of-a-kind FLEX insert interface, it is simple to integrate water filters into existing supply line systems.

Eat Out to Help Out – written by Amy Cutter

Following the Covid pandemic the UK government implemented a ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme. It seems that this unprecedented time is calling for unprecedented action from the government who claim this scheme will incentivise customers to eat out.
The scheme works by offering a discount which can then be claimed back from the government. The scheme is UK wide and customers can see which restaurants are taking part via the GOV.UK website.
