Happy New Year
Our January 2020 News Bulletin is now available on the BSA web site and an update will be sent to BSA Members’ by Mail Chimp too.
Scoop Malone has, as always, turned up some of the fascinating news of the coffee industry, with his usual quirky humour. There’s the BSA’s reaction to the latest Allegra report on the cafe sector, with the 2020 publication suggesting that British cafes have maintained positive sales.
‘Sustainability’ is a top priority of the hot beverage trade; however, very few are doing anything about it. This is one conclusion of a thought provoking new ‘toolkit’ report by BRITA, a BSA member company who specialise in water filtration.
As well, the hospitality trade is reported to be heading for a staffing shortage – but BSA City & Guilds VRQ and Level 1 training courses have reported an increase in numbers. With a 27% increase in in students being trained, they are adding to the number of professionally trained Baristas available to the market.
We are delighted to confirm that our PopUp Show will be at Bury Lodge on Wednesday, 18th March 2020 and please contact Karen Kleber at POPUPTRADESHOW@GMAIL.COM or phone 01279 780258 to book your space.
Thank you for your support of the Association and I wish you a busy and profitable 2020.
